L’Atelier was founded in 2010, when seasoned cheesemaker Simon Hamel decided to start making his own cheeses. In the business now for more than 10 years, Mr. Hamel has studied and made cheese in France as well as in several Québec cheese dairies, including La Moutonnière.
This cheesemaking facility in Sainte-Hélène-de-Chester is actually where Simon Hamel initially created his cheeses. Today he makes them at Fromage Warwick. With many years of experience under his belt, this cheesemaker hopes one day to have his own cheese dairy.
