Presqu’île has a slightly downy orange rind and a supple, melt-in-the-mouth paste. It features mild lactic and herbal aromas, and gentle flavours of mushroom and cream.

The name of this cheese refers to the place where it was initially made: Repentigny. Located at the confluence of three rivers (the St. Lawrence, L’Assomption and Des Prairies rivers), this city is a peninsula. In addition, some of the milk used to make it comes from producers located along Chemin de la Presqu’île in Le Gardeur.

Cheesemaker

La Fromagerie Champêtre was established in 1995 by Luc Livernoche, a former Saputo employee. The building was originally located in Repentigny and produced Cheddar and fresh cheeses. Ripened cheese production began in 2001. The family business was relocated (and expanded) in the Le Gardeur industrial park in 2003.
